Richmondshire Leisure Trust (RLT) was established by Richmondshire District Council in 2005 and functions to manage Richmond Swimming Pool and also facilities at Richmond School. Facilities include Astroturf pitched, fitness halls and sports halls. Richmondshire Leisure Trust is committed to providing the local and wider communities with the opportunity to access health and sporting activities and the opportunity to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. The trust also manages local sports development activities for the district council.

Brief
In 2009, Richmondshire Leisure Trust was in need of a totally revamped website that would accurately reflect and promote the wide range of activities being undertaken by RLT’s small and busy team. A key driver was the need to reduce print costs by increasing and improving the availability and reliability of information via the site. And of course, the site had to be easily maintainable by staff.
In addition, a local sports club database needed to be integrated into the site, to provide an easy means of recording and promoting the wealth of independent sports organisations in the area.
In terms of appearance, the site needed to project the Trust as a busy and dynamic organisation.
Solution
One again, DotNetNuke proved to be the ideal solution for RLT. DNN’s CMS facilities were easy to learn and use and would quickly place he client administrators in immediate control of the site.
A fresh and lively looking table-free skin was developed and this was supplemented with images from RLT’s own stock to increase local appeal, as well as from picture libraries.
Third party modules were used to provide single click access to pool timetables from the homepage as well as other supporting details for events and programmes organised by RLT.
The sports club database was developed using the XMod rapid application development module as was the contact form.
